Welcome to Sandpoint Middle School! We are busy at SMS, setting goals to engage your child in developing his/her skills. Our learning and achievement curve has been dramatic over the past several years: students’ reading, math, and language arts scores have increased in each of the last five years, and as a result of our hard work, we are outperforming all the Idaho state averages for the ISAT. We are working to continue our growth trajectory.

We believe in the following conditions for raising student achievement:

1. An academic core aligned to state standards: what students must know, understand, and be able to do to succeed in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

You will also find that your child has many opportunities outside the core subjects. We offer an outstanding physical education and/health program, along with elective classes that are challenging, innovative, and fun. Extra-curricular programs are available in the fields of sports, music, math, journalism, and academic pentathlon. I hope you spend time getting to know our school and programs.
